Hope you've had your breakfast!

...if not, come to Salem St.!

This past weekend while my mom was here, the weather was beautiful! Which just meant the sun was actually out and it was above freezing.  One thing I didn't expect up here is the lack of sunshine in the winter - I just expected cold...no wonder everyone (including myself at times) is cranky...there is no vitamin D November through March!  I woke up on Saturday morning to a bright, sunshine filled bedroom and couldn't wait to get up and get outside...after searching for my sunglasses that I hadn't used in a while.

Over the weekend we had great breakfast and dinner out in the city - with a small snack or app for lunch.  On Saturday morning we went to Cafe Nuovo and then to Theo's Cozy Corner on Sunday - both on Salem St. in the North End but both have very different styles!...and I honestly love both of them equally.
Cafe Nuovo opened up about 4 months ago and it is one of Paul's and my favorite place to go for breakfast.  They serve all fresh ingredients, have big bright windows (I can't wait for them to open them in the summer) and play Frank Sinatra - what better way to start your day?
{the day's special - lobster, crab, and shrimp omelet - with scali toast - my fav}

{Paul's side of fruit instead of homefries...vegas prep perhaps??}

{cubed sugar! although I don't use it..it's a cute touch}

{LOVE COFFEE}
{my signature pose according to Paul....}

Next...THEO'S COZY CORNER
It has everything you could want from a diner.  Right on the street, tv's on, chef behind the bar taking orders from the waitress without even looking up, and plenty of ketchup and maple syrup right on your table.
{didn't get a picture of the outside - this picture via radaris.com}
{I thought this presentation was very "diner style"}

{more COFFEE}
{it was our first time here...curious of the coffee...}

{ehh....}

{hhhmmmm...}

{yep! another great cup of coffee on my street!}

{more fresh fruit - this time it was mine...but Paul still skipped his toast! ;) }

{yesssss}

{I was kinda shocked that I was able to order an egg white, canadian bacon, english muffin sandwich}

Overall weekend was great....we did eat at more great restaurants but I didn't get enough pictures for a post...

Happy St. Patty's day!!!  I'm hoping to find some green beer in the city tonight - my fav!
