Little Favorites

Yesterday I spent the majority of the day in my apartment.  I finally took a day to myself to unpack, organize and do laundry which I hadn't done since I returned from my trip to Vail (on December 31st).  It literally took 3 trips from my car to my apt, quite a few loads of laundry, and hours of folding/hanging/sorting....so naturally I took breaks.  During those breaks, I noticed just a few of the many things in my apt that I love!  As the saying goes - it's the little things in life that mean the most....while that may be true....I also like to think it's the little things in a house that makes a home. My roomie and I have a very girlie style in our apartment which I embrace whole heartedly and I am not ready to give up just yet... Below are a few touches that make me feel "at home" when I walk in the door.
{sweet, delicate, trendy salt and pepper shakers - which were given to my roomie by her sister}
 As and Auburn grad, I love anything with an eagle on it (War Eagle!).  I found these bookends online and thought they would be the perfect Auburn touch without being annoying and guady.
If you have been in our apartment - then you know that we have a lot of bookshelves to fill.  We have a mixture of book genres on the shelves which I think makes it that much more interesting!
{the bookends are regal, heavy, and slightly vintage - a perfect contrast to our very light style}

{last but not least, the latest MarthaStewartLiving, its arrival always turns a so-so day into a marvelous day}

Happy MLK day everyone!
