Today is not my favorite day in Boston.
1) Weather is sickly warm, muggy, rainy, and ugly - yuck.
2) Was kept up by randoms on the street after the Celtics game and then woken up wayyyyy to early by the garbage truck and then repeatedly for the next two hours by delivery trucks. Oh North End - we have a love hate relationship.
3) Last week as saw my first RAT (the size of a liter bottle and a thick tail just as long). When I told people about this atrocious sighting they only wanted to know if it was in my room?!?! I told them noooo it was in the street and they replied "ohhh just in the street?" This morning I heard a noise in my room and immediately thought there must be a RAT under my bed but it was only a dirty pigeon on my window sill. Ahhh!!
However, I do realize that my morning wasn't that bad. I had a roof over my head (to protect me from the awful weather), a bed to sleep in (even though it has a slight damp feel due to the weather outside and the fact that I have to keep my windows open to let in the somewhat cool air as my apt has no A/C), and a car that got me to work on time (as well as a Starbucks on the way - I needed something to pick me up this morning. In efforts to save money, I have not been buying Starbucks during the week and just drinking the coffee at the office but today I needed a Starbucks grande pike coffee).
So although it is not my favorite day in Boston, I am still thankful I am here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Today's weather may be "blah" but the rest of the week should be good!
I am making dinner tonight at Paul's and I think I am going to add some cornbread to the menu to end this northern air day in a southern flair way!
